Download IBN018: Blind Moany Wat – No outside force can harm the coyote
Blind Moany Wat returns with “No outside force can harm the coyote.”
A gritty blur of lap-steel scrape, warped bass and synthesized smear, “No outside force…” comes from the porch of a dilapidated house at the edge of a ruined world. The tools are rusted and the sky is bruised. A crow steals guitar strings for its nest. Angry insects infest the synthesizers and a mouse died inside the drum machine some time ago. These tracks are its elegy.
Blind Moany Wat infuses techno with a ragged bleakness, bursts of noise abuse lonely drums while a broken guitar raises a clangor in protest. A slow parade around a decaying center, these tracks invite you to explore a unique zone of sound where electronic precision collapses into a mutating heap emitting haggard ruckus.
Take your jug of ale outside and listen while fall eats into summer.
Sorry to flip the script at the last minute, but Sunday’s show has been moved to Silent Barn instead of Party Expo. Speak Onion vs. Digit216 battle set was deemed too dangerous for a “party” space, and we had to move the show for insurace reasons. There will still be plenty of pounding beats, and full on bass bL00r, but just in a different place. Silent Barn is, of course, well suited to handle the mayhem.
Realicide and DJ Tacopunch are bringing the crazed electronic hardness from out of town, and of course we’ve got local industrial noise genius, Insect Deli, lighting the place up as well. That would be enough to make this show worth attending, but Digit216 and Speak Onion are doing a BATTLE SET of breaks, noise, and general clusterfuckery to top it all off.

Big show alert! Get ready to party all damn night with some of the wildest, weirdest music, including two of I.B.N.’s heaviest hitters, Speak Onion and David B. Applegate. Aside from all the drum’n’noise and Free Techno you can get, there’s also Bubblegum Octopus and Mysterious House taking it over the top with weirdness. You get it all with this party.
Don’t miss it!

Edit: Xrin Arms, sadly, won’t be able to make it up to NYC due to some rough times out on tour, so there will be only 4 bands at this show at Port d’Or. Still mad freshness guaranteed, though. Pour one out on the curb for XA, though.
Your boy, Speak Onion, is fixing to drop some science next Sunday at the ExperiMENTAL Fest. It’ll be Noise BBQ becoming Breakcore Potluck and Industrial Picnic. You know the #1 Boss of Drum’n”Noise is going to provide hot fire to keep this scorcher of a summer going. With tons of great acts on the bill , including long-time home-girl, Joy Through Noise, there’s no question of good times to be had. Who’s bringing watermelon?

Note: The venue is now changed to SILENT BARN at 915 Wyckoff. Sorry for the late notice!

In a freak turn of events which leaves us both dizzy and pleased, Immigrant Breast Nest’s Speak Onion and David B. Applegate will be joining NO Shoulders and Coin Star for a no-holds-barred bash-out on Wednesday, June 30th at The Charleston. You’ll want to super-glue your wig to your noggin to keep it from getting irreparably flipped. We’ll see you there.

Speak Onion will be playing an extra special and intimate (wink, wink) set on the rooftop of Eton Trading in Greenpoint on Friday, and it’s 100% FREE! It’s part of From The Gut’s Saturation NYC event, a night of transformed space, art, sculpture, and sound. There’s more info at the Saturation facebook event listing, and the details are below.
Friday, June 18, 2010; I’ll play at probaly 10PM or so.
Eton Trading
238 Franklin Street (at Freeman), Greenpoint, NY
You really don’t want to miss this event. Look at this view from a generic Greenpoint rooftop! This is how rad it might look while Speak Onion is dropping abstract synth noises. Hell yeah!
Be there!
